How to choose the right video highlights
Keep a passage for what it tells someone seeing the video for the first time. A score can guide that choice; it cannot replace watching the clip.
Understand the passage without watching the whole episode
An excerpt may seem clear because you already know the speaker, the subject and what came before. Watch it once without relying on that knowledge. If it opens with “that’s why I did it”, can a new viewer tell what “that” and “it” refer to?
A short hook can introduce the situation. It should not invent an explanation missing from the passage. In an interview, keep the question when it is needed to understand the answer.
GeniusClip finds candidate passages from the transcript and uses AI to select among them. It can miss a useful moment or keep an ambiguous statement. Spoken discussions, interviews and podcasts give this analysis more to work with than a sequence whose meaning depends entirely on the visuals.
Deliver on the opening sentence
A surprising opening needs an answer, an example or a consequence. Listen to the final seconds: is the sentence complete? Has the promised explanation arrived? If the clip stops just before the answer, a strong opening is not enough to make it ready to post.
Watch for repeated ideas too. Two passages at different timestamps can make the same point. Keep the one with the clearest opening, example and ending.
Read a score out of 100 without treating it as a guarantee
The GeniusClip score is an AI assessment based on the material it analyses. It helps order the passages and comes with a reason for selection. It is not a measured retention rate, a probability of going viral or a forecast of views.
The scale allows both low and high scores. Uploading a video does not automatically produce an excellent clip. Passages judged too weak may be excluded; if the project delivers no clips, its credits are returned.
Reach then depends on the content, account, post and audience. Compare the score with your own review and later with actual publishing results, without assuming every difference has a single cause.
Review once more before posting
- Do the title and description match what was actually said?
- Are names, numbers and subtitles correct?
- Does the vertical crop keep important details visible?
- Does the cut preserve the speaker’s meaning?
- Do you have the rights needed to publish the excerpt?
